The main window of AutoCAD 2012 is divided into two areas. The upper area contains the 2D drawing panel and the lower area contains the property panel, tool palettes, command line, and the custom user interface editor (UI editor).

2D drawing panel : The 2D drawing panel contains the drawings and their palettes. The drawing area is the area in the center of the window, that is large enough to contain the entire drawing. Unified Architecture

In AutoCAD 2018, the.NET API is the unified API. It has a single entry point called the API for.NET, which is a wrapper around the original API for.NET (ADN), and an additional API called the Application Service Provider. It provides the unified API’s as well as the API for.NET’s functionality, which are now synchronized.

With the Unified Architecture, the API for.NET and the API for Java have the same functionality as the ADN API.
